salmon in rivers and streams

Many anglers (myself included) consider landlocked salmon to be the signature fish of Maine.  We have a much greater number and wider variety of waters with healthy populations of landlocked salmon than anywhere else in the country.  And these hard-fighting, acrobatic fish are tailor-made for fishing with a fly rod.

Landlocked salmon are also one of the signature fish of Tracewski Fishing Adventures.  We wade a dozen different rivers and streams, and use the driftboat to float several others.  May, June and late September are the best times to schedule a salmon fishing trip, because these months usually provide ideal water temperatures and flows.  They also coincide with the salmon’s three peaks in activity associated with smelt runs (May), insect hatches (June) and spawning (September).

Wade and float trips cost $320 per day and most are designed to accommodate two anglers.  A third angler can be added on some trips for an additional charge. I am affiliated with serveral top lodges and offer packages that include a comfortable waterfront cabin, meals, etc.  We fish a lot of different salmon waters, so custom itineraries can be arranged upon request.
